The Lakes Region Elite Lakers
The LRE Lakers are traveling tournament teams, with seasons in the fall and spring. These are competitive teams who play against top talent from all over New England. Laker Teams are coached by experienced coaches, who provide a safe environment for each player to improve his/her skills. The Lakers are an elite program, designed for players who are ready to compete at and advanced level. We offer several teams at different grade levels. There will be tryouts for each team. Tryouts and practices will be held at the Gilford Youth Center, 19 Potter Hill Rd, Gilford. It is free to tryout for our teams. 2023 Spring Lakers Program The Lakers will return in the spring of 2023 to offer a travel season for Middle School Players. The season will consist of five regional AAU tournaments, as well as exhibition games with some of the other top programs in New England. There will be weekly practices each week during the spring season. All players must register and attend tryouts for the Lakers program. Due to limited roster sizes, not everyone will make the Lakers teams. It is free to tryout for the Lakers program. **NEW** Tryout Schedule: Monday, 2/13 7:30pm- Girls 5-6 grade & 7-8 grade Wed, 2/15 7:00pm- Boys 7-8 grade Thurs, 2/16 6:00pm- Boys 3-4 grade Sun, 2/19 11am- Boys 5-6 Grade *If you cannot make this date, please contact Scott at scott@gilfordyouthcenter.com Tournaments The Lakers will be play in 5 regional tournaments this fall. We will also host some in-house exhibition games against other top programs in New England. Tournament Schedule: Tournament dates have not been finalized yet. However, tournaments will be scheduled mid-march-May. Each team will play in five tournaments in the spring. All tournaments will be in New England, and will consist of at least three games each tournament. Cost: $395 *players will also take part in free throw fundraiser (see below) Cost Includes: 5 Spring weekend tournaments (4 tournaments for 3-4 grade team) Uniform/travel gear Weekly practices Fundraiser Lakers players will also take part in a free throw fundraiser. the 100 Free throw fundraiser will help raise money for the program, as well as offer incentives to earn Laker gear or help offset player fee. Each player is expected to raise a minimum of $50 through the fundraiser. Please Note: These teams are competitive travel teams. We are looking for players who want to improve their game, be challenged by their coaches, and compete against top talent from all over New England. We expect players to be at practice, to work hard, and represent LRE in a positive way. Coaches will push our players to be the best they can be. Playing time is not distributed equally, as players are expected to earn playing time through attendance, hard work, and skill. |
